Mr. Anthony Rivera, Director of Bands

Anthony Rivera is in his fifteenth year of teaching and was recently named Director of Bands at Lewisville High School in Lewisville, Texas. At Lewisville, he leads the marching band program, conducts the Wind Symphony, and assists with the Symphonic, Concert, Varsity Bands.
Prior to his appointment at Lewisville High School, Mr. Rivera served as an assistant at Richland HS, Head Band Director at Richland Middle School in Birdville ISD, Head Band Director at Travis Middle School in Amarillo ISD, and as an Assistant Band Director in Monahans, Texas.
Mr. Rivera’s concert bands have earned consistent recognition, including Best-in-Class and Runner-Up awards at festivals throughout the Panhandle and DFW areas. His ensembles have consistently received unanimous superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sightreading and have advanced to the State level of the TMEA Honor Band process. His non-varsity bands were named a National Winner of the Foundation for Music Education’s Citation of Excellence. The marching bands under Mr. Rivera’s instruction have been consistent competitors across Texas and have earned numerous honors, including a Bands of America Regional Championship and recognition as a two-time finalist at the UIL 5A State Marching Contest.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Rivera is an active clinician, working with bands throughout Texas, and often serves as a region band clinician. He was named a Teacher of the Year finalist in 2017 and 2021.
Mr. Rivera is a cum laude graduate of West Texas A&M University, earning his Bachelor of Music Education in 2011, and received his Master of Arts degree from WTAMU in 2018. He is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.
Mr. Rivera resides in Lewisville, Texas with his wife, Katie, who is a Head Band Director at Coppell West in Coppell ISD, their daughter April, and their dog, Blaze.

Mr. David Kraft, Associate Director of Bands

David Kraft has been teaching in the LHS Band cluster since 2008. Mr. Kraft began teaching at Huffines Middle School as the Associate Director in charge of woodwind classes and the Symphonic Band. In 2010 Mr. Kraft moved into his current position at Lewisville High School where he conducts the Symphonic Band and Jazz Band.
Originally from Porterville, California, Mr. Kraft grew up in a very musically rich community. He had plenty of performance opportunities across the nation, including a Christmas Performance at the White House in 2001. Starting the clarinet in the 4th grade, Mr. Kraft knew from a young age that music was going to be a major part of his life. Graduating from The University of North Texas in the summer of 2008, he has performed with the Northwest Community Orchestra, UNT Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band and was a recording soloist for the Green Brigade, UNT’s marching band.
Most recently, Mr. Kraft has led the Lewisville HS Jazz Band to new heights with local appearances and top ratings at the Chet Baker Jazz Festival.

Mr. Wyatt Andrews, Associate Director of Bands

Wyatt Andrews is entering his first year in public education and is excited to begin teaching at Lewisville High School! At Lewisville, he will conduct the Concert Band and assist with the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic, and Varsity Bands.
Mr. Andrews graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Music Education at The University of Texas at Austin and completed his student teaching at Westlake High School and West Ridge Middle School in Eanes ISD. Mr. Andrews also works with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps as a member of the brass staff.
At The University of Texas, Mr. Andrews studied under Nathaniel Brickens, Robert Duke, and Amy Simmons. During his time at UT, he performed as a bass trombonist with the UT Wind Ensemble under the direction of Jerry Junkin, the UT Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Farkhad Kudyev, and the Butler Opera Center under the direction of Douglas Kinney Frost. In addition, he performed with the UT Trombone Choir under the direction of Nathaniel Brickens, which won the Emory Remington Trombone Choir Competition in 2023.
Mr. Andrews was a performing member of the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps for four seasons, from 2021–2024, and he served as a section leader in his final two seasons. In 2025, Mr. Andrews joined the instructional team of the Boston Crusaders as a member of the brass staff.
In his free time, Mr. Andrews enjoys running, hiking, and going to coffee shops. If you know a great spot for coffee, he'd love to hear about it!

Mr. Koby Chiou, Director of Percussion Studies

Koby Chiou currently serves as the Director of Percussion Studies at Lewisville High School, in Lewisville, Texas. Prior to working with the Lewisville Band, Mr. Chiou taught at Juan Seguin High School in Arlington, TX.
Mr. Chiou is originally from Houston, TX where he went to school in Spring Branch ISD graduating from Stratford HS. He then went to Baylor University where he received a degree in Music Education. During his time at Baylor, he performed with the Baylor Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and served as the Drumline Section Leader for the Golden Wave Band. At Baylor, Mr. Chiou studied with Dr. Todd Meehan, Dr. Ed J Taylor, Mr. Arlo Schultis, Mr. Scott Taylor and Mr. Chris Sies.
In addition to his Baylor education, Mr. Chiou also has a background in the highest level of the marching arts. He has experience in both World Class Drum Corps and Indoor Percussion Groups, most recently Monarch Independent.

Mr. Curtis Green, Color Guard Director

Mr. Green is originally from Mesquite, TX and has been teaching dance and color guard for many years. He has past experience as a teacher and clinician at Beyond Belief Dance Company, Azle High School, Burleson High School, Summit High School, and North Crowley High School. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance from the School for Classical and Contemporary Dance at Texas Christian University in 2009.
Being a dancer first and foremost, Mr. Green has trained and danced in New York City with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and also in Pittsburgh, PA with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Along with teaching color guard, Mr. Green serves as the choreographer of the Contemporary and Hip Hop Company members at Laura’s Dance Dynamics in Hurst, TX. He is currently the color guard director at Northwest High School and is also on staff as the movement and dance choreographer for the Dallas based World Class Independent Winter Guard, Black Gold.
Some of his achievements include choreographing the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day Halftime Show in 2008, and also auditioning for and advancing to “Vegas Week” of the Fox TV show So You Think You Can Dance in 2007. Mr. Green has also served as a guest choreographer for the UTA Dance Ensemble in Arlington, TX. Mr. Green has danced in the American College Dance Festival Association Adjudication Concert, PILOT Choreographers Taking Flight, company member at Texas Dance Theater, and has also performed as a lead dance soloist at Black Gold Winter Guard. Along with his background in dance, he currently is serving in the United States Army Reserves.
